A Different Kind of Wedding Gathering
For a long time, weddings followed a familiar pattern: bigger guest lists, bigger venues, bigger celebrations, and often a bigger price tag. The expectation was that the more elaborate the event, the more meaningful it would feel.
In recent years, though, many couples have started to rethink that approach. While the wedding itself likely remains the centerpiece, more people are carving out smaller moments in the time leading up to it to spend quality time with siblings, close friends, or family members who have supported them along the way.
Those quieter gatherings don’t replace the big day; they complement it. And for many couples, they end up becoming some of the moments they remember most.
A Different Way to Spend Time Together
At The Pearl Day Spa, we often host groups of friends and family who want to relax and reconnect for celebrations of all kinds, as well as for the simple chance to spend time together. That might look like a wedding party easing into the weekend with a morning at the spa, a smaller group stepping away from a full schedule for a few quiet hours, or people who don’t get to see each other often taking the opportunity to slow down and enjoy some quality time together.
What these gatherings have in common is their pace. Instead of moving quickly from one activity to the next, everyone settles in. There’s a little bit of magic that happens when you spend time with us, and it has less to do with the services and more with what opens up when everyone has the space to slow down.
A Setting That Encourages Slowing Down
Our space plays a big role in that. Our spa is set inside a 100-year-old home, with a shared lounge where people gather between services, tea always available, and, in the warmer months, our garden becomes part of the experience as a great place to relax, reconnect with your group, or just read a good book. If you’ve ever spent time with us, you know that our cozy building has no shortage of charm and character—the warmth, the quiet, the smells are all part of the experience.
Preparing for the Wedding Day
No matter your take on wedding traditions, it’s undoubtedly a time when everyone wants to feel their best. Many of our clients use the months leading up to their wedding to establish more consistent skincare or self-care routines so they feel confident on the day itself. Facials, massage, brow shaping, waxing, lash lifts, and skincare planning can all be part of that process.
When planned, those services become less about rushed last-minute preparation and more about creating a routine that feels supportive and low-stress.
For wedding preparation in particular, we offer a variety of 3-month series of services, such as our Bridal Radiance facials and waxing packages. Skincare and waxing have one thing in common: it’s best not to rush them. Getting a skincare service you’ve never had before, or being sugared or waxed in the week leading up to the big day, might sound like a good idea, but it can lead to unexpected results, such as skin reactions or ingrown hairs.
Planning a Spa Gathering
Our small groups typically range from two to ten people, and our team helps coordinate the schedule so the day feels relaxed and easy. Wedding planning is already enough of a chore, so let us handle the details. A dedicated wedding coordinator will help take you from idea to enjoyment.
The Little Details
Beyond the services themselves, there are a number of small things that make the day feel easier and more enjoyable. We offer a selection of grazing boards to enjoy throughout your time here, along with complimentary beverages, so no one has to worry about logistics.
We also include a group photo so you have something to take with you, additional support staff on the day of your visit to keep everything moving smoothly, and all gratuities are included in your pricing, so there’s nothing to calculate or coordinate at the end of your visit.
Weddings, at their heart, are about connection and celebration. While the ceremony and reception bring everyone together, the smaller moments surrounding them often create the space where memories take shape.
If you’re planning a wedding and looking for a way to spend meaningful time with a few of the people closest to you, a spa gathering can be a wonderful way to do it.
