Facial peels have been proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, combat dry skin, soften rough texture, lighten dark spots, reduce keratoses (pre-cancers), open up and dry out active acne, and help exfoliate razor bumps.
Each peel includes a professional consultation and attention to your requests. After your service, enjoy a complimentary cup of Young Mountain Tea and a piece of premium Equal Exchange chocolate in our lounge, or purchase a glass of local beer or wine to complete your spa experience.
Facial peels can incorporate Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs), and other rejuvenating compounds. They are one of the most widely used esthetic procedures used to smooth wrinkles, reduce the effects of sun damage and generally improve the tone and texture of the skin. They are often used for their anti-aging properties.
Because the molecules of these compounds are so small, they easily penetrate the skin and help to loosen the bonds that hold skin cells together. This allows the skin cells to slough off more effectively, leaving the skin feeling softer, smoother and rejuvenated. They can be given alone or as a part of a facial and, for best results, repeated. Peels generally yield the best results when done consistently and used in addition to an at-home skin care regimen.
AHAs & BHAs can be found in many over the counter facial products, but the products used by licensed estheticians are stronger and should be discussed with the esthetician prior to use. They can also cause sun sensitivity, so sunscreen must be worn after each use.
A skin consultation will be performed prior to your service to determine which, if any, peel is right for your skin concerns
