Spa Etiquette
Punctuality
We ask that you arrive fifteen minutes before your appointment, so that we have time to prepare you for your service. If you are late for your session you may not receive the full length of your session as we have other clients scheduled throughout the day.
What to bring
Just bring yourself in comfortable clothing we supply robes, slippers, sandals, and any other necessary items. Some treatments, such as Thai Massage are performed with client fully dressed, for these treatments please wear lose comfortable clothing (workout clothes would be fine).
Cell Phones and Pagers
For the serenity of the space we ask you to please turn off all cell phones and pagers and refrain from using them while at the spa. We ask that you keep voices low while in lounge or between services as others are enjoying their sessions.
Gratuities
Gratuities are accepted and appreciated. They may be left with the Practitioner personally or added at the front desk upon departure.
Spa Policies
Reservations and Cancellations
All sessions are reserved by appointment only and can be scheduled seven days a week. To ensure your desired reservation time, we recommend that you reserve your next service before leaving the spa. If you need to cancel or reschedule your reservation we ask that you notify us 24 hours in advance, so that we may accommodate another guest. For packages and treatments over two hours we require 48 hours notice for cancellations and rescheduling.
Your appointment is a commitment of the therapist’s time - if we do not receive your cancellation notification we will have to charge for the full price of the service reserved. Cancellations made with less than the required notice time may be charged 50% of service price. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
Payment
Payments are due at time of service; we accept Cash, Check, or Credit Cards (Visa/Master Card/ American Express).
Insurance is also accepted. Any co-pays are due at the time of service, and Clients are responsible for any charges not paid by insurance.
Our practitioners are happy to accept tips. If you would like to show your thanks, it is customary to tip between 10-20%. Thank you.
Special Events
We're delighted to schedule and help you plan birthday parties, pre-wedding parties, or any other special event at the spa. Please call at least three weeks in advance. Multiple session appointments or groups require a credit card to secure reservation.
Massage Policy
Massage/Bodywork is for the basic purpose of relaxation, stress reduction, and relief of muscular tension. It is your responsibility as the client to inform the practitioner of any pain or discomfort during your session so that the pressure and/or technique may be adjusted to your level of comfort.
It is also your responsibility as the client to inform the practitioners of any known medical conditions and to keep them updated to any changes in your medical health. Some session may not be suitable or have to be modified for certain medical conditions.
The use of Alcohol and/or Drugs prior to a massage session is incompatible to the healing process of massage/bodywork and is grounds for refusal/termination of session.
Practitioners
The practitioners are all employees of The Pearl Day Spa. All practitioners hold licenses for their specific modality issued by the state of Oregon. They are not doctors, therefore they do not diagnosis, prescribe, or practice medicine of any kind.
Conduct
All services at the Pearl are for therapeutic purposes. Any illicit or sexually suggestive remarks will result in the immediate termination of your session, and you will be liable for payment of the full scheduled appointment. There will be no sexual involvement of any kind by the practitioner or the clients. If your session has been terminated due to violation of above policies, you are no longer welcome to schedule at The Pearl Day Spa.
